Play Tennis. Practice Yoga. Fall Tune-Up Camp!

8-8:30 Orientation, Opening Circle and Centering Practice:We’ll get settled, meet our fellow participants and set intentions for the rest of the day and season with a brief meditation practice.
8:30-9 Red Ball Warm-Up:You’ll get a chance to work with various partners in the red court set-up, working on hand-eye coordination, find focus through ball watching skills and improve consistency at a slower pace. Perfect if you’re looking to shake a little rust off and haven’t been playing much this summer!
9-9:45 Triples (Orange Ball):Learn how to “Triple the Fun” as you learn how to play self-fed Triples! This game is ideal for doubles players wanting to get stronger at poaching and putting balls away up at the net as well as their stamina and fitness. Take it back to your club and use it when you have 6-8 players with only one court available! (This lesson alone is worth coming to camp!)
9:45-10 Break:Bathroom/Snack/Hydration
10-10:30 Yoga for Tennis:Take a break from tennis play and decompress with a yoga postural practice specifically designed for tennis players. Learn how to utilize your yoga practice before, during and after tennis play! No experience with yoga is necessary. Yoga mats will be provided for those who do not have their own.
10:30-11 Serving Tips & Tricks:Who doesn’t need help with the most important shot in tennis? Learn some simple drills that can be practiced at home (off court) on your own (on court) and get some repetition in, instilling confidence for live play.
11-11:45 Doubles Play (Yellow Ball): Depending on the number of participants, half the group will play doubles, while the other half watches, learns and interacts with those playing on court. An emphasis on tie breakers will be worked on, so that the format becomes more automatic for those getting ready for league play. Those resting will trade roles with those playing so that no one is out for too long at any time and by that time of the morning, you’ll welcome a little rest and the opportunity to learn visually.
11:45-12 Closing & Final Relaxation We’ll have a moment to review, reflect and finally RELAX, allowing you to absorb what you’ve learned, so that you can take it all with you into the real world!
